IN
the Name of the People
In the name of the people,
My managers rob me of my rights
They incarcerate me in safe houses
Which are not safe at all
To protect the people.
Which people, people I am not part of?
“It is for national security,” so I am
told.
My money is borrowed without my consent
To sponsor their PhD studies and trips
abroad
So that I can have better skilled
managers
How lucky I am, though illiterate!
That is in addition to funding political
campaigns
So that I can choose wisely in the
forthcoming election.
They bribe my representatives in The
House
To amend the Constitution
So that the General Manager can get
another term in office;
During which term they will consolidate
their achievements
And prosper me,
Despite increased taxes, unemployment,
dire poverty
Belated prosperity after this entire
long.
Anyway, it is the people’s choice and
voice
In whose name I am left destitute.
