JOB SEEKERS

JOB SEEKERS
“Come for jobs,” reads the advert on the street.
Back home, they rush to prepare themselves
For the newly found opportunity
They wash clothes spotless clean, bathe, brush their shoes and iron
All is done hastily
Highly optimistic of the future.
Off they go early morning
Only to find many others, one job is sought
Now they are pessimistic
They are afraid of one another.
But this talkative guy seems to know everyone- including the manager
Before long, ‘friendships’ emerge in groups
They interact together.
“Get ready for the interviews,” shouts an official
And the friendships cease, dead silence reigns
One by one they are interviewed
And leave without a word
Anxiety overrides them.

Tomorrow they visit the notice board
Some are taken on and they are all smiles
Many miss out and their expressions say it all,
It is the beginning of yet another ordeal-
Of job seeking
The struggle continues

It’s not yet uhuru.

Why President Museveni and the NRM should reject the 45 years Amendment

Two weeks ago, news came in on how the NRM parliamentary Caucus was plotting yet another constitutional amendment to bar those below 45 years from running for President. We must first remind ourselves that this is the same Article that was amended in December, 2017, kicking out the 35 and 75 as age cap for the Presidency. I am opposed to this Amendment and my point of departure with the caucus, is informed by four areas. However, I will need guidance if I am wrong. We cannot amend the constitution out of panic. Such an amendment clearly shows that the NRM parliamentarians have started doing what they do best- panicking. Kampala:Trial of accused Rwandan National deferred

Hearing of the case in which a Rwandese National Moses Ishimwe  Rutare is accused of illegal entry and Stay in Uganda, has been pushed to Friday 5th this Week due to the abscence of the trial  Magistrate who is reportedly on leave. Rutare a tall, slim brown man was today supposed to start his trial before Grade One Magistrate Angura Fionah Shiella having been granted bail last month which he has actually honoured by reporting to Court with his Lawyer Daniel Walyemera. Prosecution alleges that 33year old Rutare a resident of zone 6 Nadiope Road in Mbuya-Nakawa Division, at unknown date in 2018, and  unknown Border post unlawfully entered Uganda without an entry permit certificate of permanent residence or pass issued under the Uganda Citizenship and Immigration Act.
