Legal And Parliamentary Affairs Committee to Invite All Former Presidential Candidates Over Age Limit

The legal and parliamentary affairs committee plans to invite all former presidential candidates over the age limit removal bill.

The chairperson Jacob Oboth who is also MP for West Budama says the committee will also interface with former justices of the Supreme Court and 8 political parties and other groups.

All the invited groups and individuals will appear before the committee after it has met the bill’s sponsor Raphael Magyezi of Igara West on 31^st of this month.

Oboth says the committee that is expected to consider the bill for 45 days will request the Speaker for more time to accommodate wide consultations before writing and presenting a report to the House.

Oboth also believes that MPs are secure as they embark on consulting their constituents on the bill that seeks to amend article 102(b) of the constitution that only people between 35-75 can stand for presidency.

Tuesday 8, august 2017 was a big day in Kenya and indeed East Africa, as voters exercised their electoral democracy. Kampala:Trial of accused Rwandan National deferred

Hearing of the case in which a Rwandese National Moses Ishimwe Rutare is accused of illegal entry and Stay in Uganda, has been pushed to Friday 5th this Week due to the abscence of the trial Magistrate who is reportedly on leave.
