Man Who Burnt Himself And His Girlfriend In His House In Mbarara Finally Identified

The man who died after he locked himself and his girlfriend up and set the room on fire in Katete cell, Nyamitanga division Mbarara municipality, has finally been identified.

The deceased has been identified as Atushemeza Eric, 28 years, a resident of Kyamugorani cell, Kakiika division, Mbarara Municipality, and a former employee of Uganda Breweries Limited.

The deceased’s girl friend, Natamba Penninah, who also passed away at Mbarara referral hospital today morning after sustaining severe injuries on her body, whose origin was not clear, was from Sheema Municipality, and a student of Bishop Stuart University.

Rwizi regional Police Spokesperson, Samson Kasasira says the deceased were identified by their parents.

The bodies of the two are still at Mbarara regional hospital for post mortem, after which they will be handed over to their parents for a decent burial.
