Unknown assailants shot dead Rukungiri businessman, Kyamugundu

Rukungiri business tycoon, Aine God Kyamugundu, 34, has been shot dead by unknown assailants at Kyemengo at the boarder of Rukungiri Municipality and Buhunga Sub County in Rukungiri district as he was heading to his coffee factory in Karisizo trading centre Buhunga Sub County.

Elly Maate the police spokesperson, Kigezi region said Kyamugundu was shot at around 3:20am in wee hours of today morning.

Maate said Kyamugundu was on boda boda with another person who is not yet identified and found the road closed with stones and logs of trees prompting the boda boda rider to stop as assailants came from the bush and grab God Kyamugunda and killed him instantly.

Kyamugundu is a resident of Mitooma cell, Kahoko parish, Nyakagyeme Sub County in Rukungiri; he was a coffee dealer and has factories in Karisizo - Buhunga, Nyakagyeme and Kanungu.

One of his business friends who preferred anonymity said that Kyamugunda could have been killed by the people he works with.

Police said the body is at Rwakabengo mortuary waiting for postmortem before they handed it over to the relatives for burial. Kyamugundu is survived by a wife and a three year old child.

Tuesday 8, august 2017 was a big day in Kenya and indeed East Africa, as voters exercised their electoral democracy. Kampala:Trial of accused Rwandan National deferred

Hearing of the case in which a Rwandese National Moses Ishimwe Rutare is accused of illegal entry and Stay in Uganda, has been pushed to Friday 5th this Week due to the abscence of the trial Magistrate who is reportedly on leave.
